We are a full-service, multi-fleet aviation company with aircraft charters and aircraft maintenance services in rotary wing and fixed wing divisions. We provide specialized aviation services to multiple industries, governments, business travellers and private citizens. We operate 25 aircraft out of bases in Vancouver/Richmond at YVR, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, Victoria, Sechelt, and Vernon but our ports of call are global.

Corporate History

Blackcomb Aviation emerged over a three year period (2006-2009) in a series of business transactions that combined the proven strengths of four previously established BC based companies. These companies are Blackcomb Helicopters (founded in 1989); Omega Aviation (founded in 1995); Goldwing Helicopters (founded in 1996); and the McLean Group of Companies (founded in 1972 and owned by the McLean family of Vancouver).

Under the new ownership structure, the strengths and personnel of these companies were integrated under one umbrella, Blackcomb Aviation LP, a company which today encompasses a flight team of over 80 technical, administrative and maintenance personnel.

Blackcomb Aviation is co-owned by John Morris and by the McLean family of the McLean Group of Companies who also own and operate Vancouver Film Studios, Western Canada’s largest production facility.

Blackcomb Aviation is a current holder of all applicable Air Operator and Aircraft Maintenance Organization certificates and authorities. It is also designated by the Canadian Business Aircraft Association as an Aircraft Management company.

Regional Expertise

The geography of the Pacific Northwest is as challenging as it is beautiful. Our pilots have honed their skills in this environment and are among the finest mountain and coastal pilots in the world. Their skills have been further honed by the diversity of Blackcomb’s expertise in fire fighting, utility operations, film shoots, tourism, search & rescue, executive jet charters, avalanche control, VIP travel, and aircraft management and acquisition. But the beauty of our regional expertise doesn’t stop there. The beauty of Blackcomb’s regional expertise is that it just happens to lend itself rather nicely to the world that lies beyond.
