James Rose
Director of Maintenance, Rotary Operations
James Rose is Blackcomb Aviation’s Director of Rotary Maintenance. He is a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with 18 years aviation including 2 years as Base Manager and Base Engineer in Fort Nelson, BC. At Blackcomb, James directs the scheduling and administration of maintenance, repair, and modification for Blackcomb’s rotary fleet. He liaises with aircraft manufacturers and Transport Canada on all matters concerning aircraft continuing worthiness including evaluation, inspection and the necessary testing to maintain strict standards of aircraft safety.
Graeme Milne
Fixed Wing Operations Manager / Vancouver Base Manager
Graeme Milne is Blackcomb Aviation’s FW Operations Manager and Vancouver Base Manager. A full time pilot since 1997, he is a qualified instructor on fixed and rotary wing aircraft with IFR, multi-engine, seaplane, and night endorsements. Additionally, Graeme has been co-pilot and later, Captain, on SK76 Air Ambulance service flights. His rotary experience includes 6000+ hours flying corporate, utility, oil and gas support, logging, and general charters throughout coastal BC and northern Alberta.
Chris Frey
Director of Maintenance, Fixed Wing Operations
Chris Frey is Blackcomb Aviation’s Director of Fixed Wing Maintenance. Chris supervises maintenance on Blackcomb’s fleet of fixed wing aircraft. He has also provided line maintenance on Lear 35, Lear 55, and heavy maintenance on a variety of business jet aircraft. Chris graduated from BCIT’s A.M.E. Program in 1999, completed a Management Skills Program at Langara College in 2008, and a Project Management course at the Sauder School of Business in 2010. Prior to joining Blackcomb, Chris worked for a Canadian jet charter company which provided private charters and Medi-Vac air services to customers throughout North America. In addition to his work at Blackcomb Aviation, Chris has worked as a part time A.M.E. instructor at BCIT.
Geoff Doran
Chief Pilot
As Chief Pilot, Geoff Doran brings his considerable credentials as pilot, instructor and training pilot to all rotary operations. Prior to joining Blackcomb Aviation, Geoff worked as a Heli Ski Check and Training Pilot, Check Airman, Assistant Chief Pilot, and Occupational Health and Safety Assistant for organizations in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Geoff Doran holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Tricia Finn
Communications Manager
Tricia Finn is Communications Manager for Blackcomb Aviation. She has a Master of Arts in English Literature and Classics from the University of Canterbury and a Secondary Teaching Certificate from SFU. Tricia is an accredited feature film and television writer and is a member of the Writers Guild of Canada. At Blackcomb, Tricia oversees all facets of communications including media management, internal communiqués and newsletters, web content, promotional materials, RFP’s and other corporate documents.
